I had a truly positive experience with the selection process today. I submitted eight candidates to begin operational training on Monday, 11/3, and the most interesting part is that the selection was 100% done with PIA. I was impressed by how accurate the system was—the profiles I chose after reviewing the virtual interviews perfectly matched what we were looking for in the monitoring and access role. When I met them in person, I confirmed they all fit the profile very well. In fact, all eight candidates advanced to training. It was a complete success. I also noticed something key: the candidates who are truly interested in the job are those who respond quickly and complete the virtual interview. Others apply through job boards but never finish the process in PIA, which already tells me a lot about their level of commitment. Overall, it was a success in every way. When we were in the middle of a major labor conflict and saw no way out after weeks of negotiations, we decided to end it unilaterally and launched a public call for workers willing to work under the same conditions the union had rejected. We received over 11,000 applications, 10% of which had seafaring licenses. We then faced the challenge of evaluating all these candidates quickly, efficiently, and accurately. Traditional methods were slow, complex, and costly. We decided to take a disruptive approach, using artificial intelligence through PIA—which turned out to be exactly what we needed. Over 400 interviews were conducted in a single weekend, something that would have been impossible otherwise, exceeding our expectations. Today, PIA continues to be a key support tool for managing our growing candidate database.
